Thank you for choosing to welcome a Sweetgrass Bunny Co. Holland Lop into your family. We pour a great deal of time and love into every bunny we raise, and we take their wellbeing seriously — both in our care and yours. This Adoption Agreement (our Sales Policy) outlines the terms of reservation, payment, pickup, transport, and care so that your new companion's journey home is smooth, transparent, and stress-free.

01

Parties & Purpose

This Adoption Agreement ("Agreement" or "Sales Policy") is entered into between Sweetgrass Bunny Co. ("Sweetgrass" or "Breeder") and the undersigned adopter ("Adopter"), covering the reservation, purchase, and adoption of one Holland Lop rabbit ("the Bunny").

The purpose of this Agreement is to set clear, transparent expectations around reservation, payment, pickup, transport, and care — so your new companion comes home happy, healthy, and safe. The Bunny remains the property of Sweetgrass Bunny Co. until the adoption is completed in full.

02

Before You Reserve

Please review this Sales Policy in full before reserving.

It is imperative to research proper bunny handling before pickup to help your new companion transition smoothly into your home. Resources are available on our website, social media, and through third-party searches.

Absolute Finality of Sale & Immediate Forfeiture Policy: All sales are 100% final at the immediate time of reservation. Because Sweetgrass Bunny Co. removes the bunny from the active market and denies all other prospective buyers, all fees paid to date — including reservation deposits, final balances, and transport fees (paid to the Transporter by the Adopter) — are strictly non-refundable and non-reimbursable (exceptions expressly outlined in Section 7).

If you cancel the sale, back out of the purchase for any reason, or fail to successfully complete the mandatory identity verification requirements at any point prior to delivery, the sale will be immediately terminated. In any such event, you automatically and entirely forfeit all monies paid to Sweetgrass Bunny Co. as liquidated damages.

Our policies are supported by our payment processors, including financial institutions, Square, PayPal, and Venmo.

Before reserving, you are responsible for confirming that your landlord or homeowner permits animals in your home, and you are also responsible for considering any household allergies. Failure to do so will result in the denial of a refund.

Sweetgrass Bunny Co. reserves the right to refuse sale to any individual at any time and for any reason.

Due to the overwhelming amount of spam messages, we do not reply to social media messages or DMs — please contact us through our website "Contact Us".

05

Hopping Home — Third-Party Transportation And Liability Transfer

At this time, third-party transport will be permitted if Adopter(s) assumes all responsibility for arranging transport with one of the following approved transporters:

Hippity Hop Express

Wild Hops Transport LLC

Six Feathers Farm

KDFT

UpNorth Pet Taxi

Please contact us should you wish to use another transport service, as reservations listing any other transport will be declined without our prior expressed approval.

It is STRONGLY encouraged to identify transport options prior to reservation. Refunds are not issued for inability to obtain proper and timely transport.

Adopter(s) selects transport on the reservation form and lists the transport(s) they've already identified to meet transport criteria. If for any reason the transporter is changed to one not on our preapproved list, Adopter(s) understand that unless they have prior expressed consent, all amounts paid may be forfeited and sale cancelled.

Transport pickup date must be within two weeks of the take-home date (listed on the Available Bunny card), or a boarding fee of $5/day will apply. Due to our limited space, we are unable to extend stays or board reserved bunnies for more than 30 days from their take-home date.

Transport meeting location must be within the following counties: Charleston Market — Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester; Charlotte Market — Union, Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Lancaster (SC), York (SC).

Delayed Transport & ETAs: The Transporter or you must provide Sweetgrass Bunny Co. with an updated, definitive Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) the day prior to the scheduled delivery date. It is Adopter's responsibility to confirm this information is provided.

Designation of Adopter's (Buyer's) Agent: You have elected to utilize a third-party transportation service to take delivery of the bunny at a public location designated within the above counties rather than picking up the bunny in person. You explicitly designate the transport company/driver listed on your Reservation Application as your lawful legal agent and proxy to accept delivery of the bunny.

Transporter Proxy Inspection: You instruct your designated transporter to inspect the bunny at the public hand-over site. A signed Hand-Over Receipt from the driver acts as your proxy signature confirming that the bunny was delivered to the transporter alive, in good apparent health, and in satisfactory condition, along with a labeled bag of transition feed.

Transfer of Ownership & Risk of Loss at Public Location: You explicitly agree that the legal transfer of ownership, possession, and absolute risk of loss shifts entirely from Sweetgrass Bunny Co. to you the exact moment your designated transporter takes physical custody of the bunny at the agreed-upon public meeting location. The sale is officially completed, and Sweetgrass Bunny Co.'s liability terminates, at the physical point of hand-over to the transporter.

Transfer of Possession at Public Destination: You acknowledge that your designated transporter will deliver the bunny to a public location chosen by the transporter or you. You agree that any disputes regarding the condition of the public drop-off site, delivery delays, or safety at the destination are strictly between you and the transport service.

Waiver of "Item Not Received" Claims: Because physical custody is delivered directly to your designated agent at the public meeting point, you explicitly waive the right to file a "Merchandise Not Received," "Item Not Received," or "Unauthorized Transaction" claim with your bank or payment processor if the bunny is delayed, lost, or injured while in transit.

06

Care

In addition to routine visual health checks that include their eyes, nose, ears, teeth, vent, scent glands, and eating habits, baby bunnies also receive precautionary treatments for parasites prior to leaving our care, a nail trim and their coats are brushed. It is the Adopter's responsibility to examine the bunny at pickup and immediately bring any concerns about the condition of the bunny to Sweetgrass Bunny Co. at that time, as we cannot take responsibility for issues that arise after adoption, as the Adopter (or their Designated Agent per Section 5 of this Agreement) will be responsible for husbandry upon taking possession.

We provide all our bunny families with an emailed Pedigree (within 24 hours of Adoption), Care Guide, transition feed, hay, and a bottle of filtered water to help you and your new little love settle in with ease.

You understand that Holland Lops generally mature between 2.5–4 lbs, and that adult size and weight are not guaranteed. Temperaments vary, and we cannot guarantee specific behavioral traits as your bunny adapts to its new environment and home.

Once your bunny leaves our care, you (Adopter) assume full financial and physical responsibility for any health issues, accidents, genetic issues and other expenses related to your bunny. Bunnies are prey animals and can be subject to stress-induced illnesses. It is up to the Adopter to ensure a calm, safe transition for the bunny. Any veterinary or other expenses that arise after adoption of the bunny are solely the responsibility of the Adopter. Sweetgrass Bunny Co. makes no guarantees on health, temperament, or sex (for bunnies under 12 weeks of age).

07

Payment Timeline, Finality

Determination of fee: Adoption fees reflect the level of care that goes into raising healthy, socialized holland lops. Not only is the level of care considered as we set adoption fees, but many other factors including, but not limited to, their type, temperament, color, and markings.

Deposit: All bunnies require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total adoption fee at the time of reservation that ensures no other person can reserve the same bunny.

Payment for In-Person Pickup: If you are picking up the bunny in person at the designated public meeting location, the remaining final balance of 50% must be paid in full at the designated public location prior to the physical hand-over of the bunny, utilizing a physical credit/debit card, ApplePay, or cash. If not paying in cash, we require payment to be made via a physical tap or swipe in person. No other forms of payment are accepted, as this reduces the risk of fraud. A final receipt will be provided for your records.

Payment for Third-Party Transport Delivery: If you elect to utilize a third-party transportation service to take delivery of the bunny, the remaining balance must be paid in full no later than fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the scheduled transport pickup date. Payment must be made via secure electronic bank wire transfer, PayPal, Venmo (without purchase protection) or the official digital Square invoice sent by Sweetgrass Bunny Co. To further mitigate the potential for fraud, Adopters utilizing transport will be required to provide proof of identification.

Consequences of Non-Payment or Identity Verification: The remaining balance and mandatory identity verification must be cleared at least 14 days prior to the scheduled transport date, or the transport window will be forfeited, and daily boarding fees will apply.

Refund Exception: Deposits and purchases are non-refundable. However, if the reserved bunny unfortunately passes due to unforeseen circumstances, becomes ill, or is found to have a developmental defect while still in the care of Sweetgrass Bunny Co., Adopter(s) will be promptly notified and given the choice between two options:

The deposit will be refunded upon request.

The deposit will be transferred, upon request, to another available bunny of Adopter(s)' choice or a future litter (and placed on the priority waiting list).

In the event the Adopter is unresponsive 48 hours from providing notice, Sweetgrass Bunny Co. will refund the deposit and send confirmation to the Adopter.

The transferable deposit will be honored 60 calendar days from the original reservation date. If no bunny is selected within that time, the transferred deposit will be refunded, and Adopter(s) will be removed from the waitlist.

Adoption fees may vary. In the event of a deposit transfer, Sweetgrass Bunny Co. is not required to match the original adoption fee(s); Adopter(s) is responsible for the difference (if applicable). Transport fees are not the responsibility of Sweetgrass Bunny Co.

Right to Cancel and Retain Funds: Sweetgrass Bunny Co. reserves the right to cancel the sale and retain the amount already paid by the Adopter(s), including the deposit and up to the full purchase price, if: the Adopter(s) does not pick up the bunny on the pickup date within the allotted time; the Adopter(s) fails to make any payment due under the payment timeline above; or, for third-party transport, full payment is not cleared at least 14 calendar days prior to the scheduled transport date.

Please reserve only if you are fully committed to the bunny you choose.

08

After Your Reservation is Approved

We will send a welcome email with important details, including the pickup location details. Please save this email for reference.

If it is not received within 24 hours, please check spam email.

Adopter will receive a Final Confirmation Email from us 3 days prior to scheduled pickup date. Adopter will be asked to reply to this email at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled pickup appointment. Not replying and leaving us unanswered will lead us to assume Adopter is no longer proceeding with the adoption and will result in a cancelled reservation and forfeit of reservation/adoption fees paid.

09

Rehoming & Breeder's First Right of Refusal

Pet families: We understand that circumstances change. Before rehoming or abandoning your bunny, please contact us first.

We may help you find a suitable new home or, in many cases, welcome your Sweetgrass bunny back. If there are no health issues requiring treatment, we will refund a portion of the original adoption fee.

Fellow breeders: Agree to honor the customary right of first refusal.

10

Full Agreement
